AI product photography - packshot, mockup and product visualization software

Raya is an AI product photo app for manufacturers, online stores and marketplace sellers. From a product photo or its 3D model, the AI creates a packshot on a plain background, a product mockup in a styled scene and a short video, without a photo shoot or a studio. A single 2K image is usually ready in under a minute.

One product photo is enough to build a full set of assets for the product page: a 3D model, packshots from several angles, lifestyle images and a clip for social media. Another angle or colour variant is another generation, not another shoot.

01 · The path

From product photo to video - how does the product visualization software work?

Most AI product images in Raya are made in four steps, and each step uses the result of the previous one. You do not have to follow the whole path: if you already have a 3D model, you start with the packshot, and if you have a finished photo, you go straight to a mockup or a video.

Turn the finished image into a 4 to 10 second clip, landscape or portrait, from 5 credits.

The whole path happens on one account and one credit balance, so you do not move files between programs. The 3D model goes to rendering with one button, and every result stays in your account history.

02 · 3D model from a photo

3D product visualization without modelling - a model from a photo

Most products in a store never had a 3D model, and ordering one from a 3D artist often costs more than a photo shoot. The AI generator creates a 3D model of the product from a single photo or from 4 shots from different sides: front, left side, back and right side. You download the result as GLB or FBX, from 6 credits.

You do not have to leave Raya with the finished model: a button under the result sends it to the Upload 3D model tab, where you make packshots from it. You can also use the same file outside Raya, for example in a 3D viewer on the product page or in design software.

How to prepare the photos and what affects model quality is explained on the page of the AI 3D model generator from photos.

03 · Packshot

AI packshot from a 3D model - packshot software for white and custom backgrounds

A packshot is the basic product photo: the product alone on a plain background, with no distractions. In Raya the AI packshot generator works from a 3D model. You upload a GLB, GLTF, OBJ or FBX file, rotate the product and set the frame, and the AI turns that view into a photorealistic AI product visualization. It takes the shape and proportions from the model, so it does not have to guess them.

Background, light and angle - what do you set in the packshot software?

You choose a white or black background or describe your own. Lighting can be studio, soft, dramatic or natural, and you describe materials and colours in a plain sentence. You shoot from the front, side, back, top or in an isometric view. Each angle is a separate generation for 2 credits in 2K or 4 in 4K, so a full set of packshots for your store gallery comes from a single file.

If you design the product in SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max or Rhino, you can also generate a visualization without exporting, in the Raya panel inside the program. See the Raya plugins for 3D software.

04 · Mockups

Product mockups in a scene - images that show the product in use

A packshot sells on the product page, but in ads and on social media a product in context works better. Raya works as product mockup software in two ways. When rendering from a 3D model, you describe a scene instead of a white background, for example “a wooden worktop in a bright kitchen” or “a bathroom shelf with plants”, and the product appears in that setting right away.

The second way is editing: you upload a photo of a scene, your own or one generated in Raya, add the product photo as a reference object and mark where it should go. The rest of the photo stays unchanged, so you can test the same product in several settings without building a set.

The AI judges scale from the photo, not from the product dimensions. With mockups that have several objects in the frame, check that the proportions look believable.

05 · Retouching

Product photo editing software - variants, fixes and upscaling

Not every image has to be generated from scratch. In the editor you select part of a finished image and describe the change: a different housing colour, another fabric, a cable removed, a stronger shadow. It is product photography in software, without retouching layer by layer. One 2K edit costs 2 credits and the rest of the image stays unchanged. The same way you prepare colour variants of a product from a single packshot.

Upscaling to 4K and 6K

You can also upscale a finished image to 4K for 4 credits or to 6K for 5 credits when you need a file for print, a banner or close-ups in the product gallery.

06 · Video

Product video from a packshot - clips for your store and social media

From a finished packshot or mockup you make a video a few seconds long: the camera pushes in on the product, slides along it or shifts focus from the foreground to the background. The clip lasts 4 to 10 seconds, in 720p or 1080p, landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16, and costs from 5 credits.

You pick the motion from ready-made shots or describe it in your own prompt. A vertical clip suits Reels and Stories, a horizontal one the product page, ads and the store website. The video needs no 3D animation and no editing.

07 · Photo shoot or Raya

AI product photos vs a traditional photo shoot

Studio product photography still has its place, especially for products customers examine up close. The difference lies in the cost of every additional angle, variant and format.

Short videoCamera operator, set and editingA few-second clip from a finished image, from 5 credits

The AI reproduces the product from the model or photos, not from technical documentation, so check small details - label text, logos, material texture - before publishing. For products customers examine up close, a photo of the finished item still gives the most certainty.

08 · Who it is for

Who is the AI product photo app for?

AI product photos are used by companies with many products and little time for photo shoots. Each starts from different material but ends up with the same thing: a full set of images for selling.

Manufacturers
You have a 3D model from the design or a prototype that is not in stock yet. You make packshots, mockups and video before the product leaves the line, and show it to distributors or in pre-sales.
Online stores
You sell products from many suppliers, and their photos have different backgrounds, lighting and quality. From supplier photos you make a 3D model and consistent packshots in one style for the whole category.
Marketplace sellers
Amazon, Etsy and other marketplaces want several photos per listing, and each platform has its own formats. You generate more angles and frame ratios from one model instead of going back to the studio for every new listing.
Marketing and social media agencies
A campaign needs the product in several scenes and formats at once. You prepare mockups in different settings and vertical videos for Reels in one place, before the client signs off on a shoot.
09 · Pricing

How much do AI product photos cost?

After signing up you get 20 free credits valid for 14 days, with no card required. That is 10 packshots in 2K - enough to test the tool on your own product.

After that you pay for credits in a subscription plan, not for access to features: a 2K packshot costs 2 credits, a 4K one 4, a 3D model from a photo from 6 and a video from 5. Unused subscription credits roll over to the following months as long as the plan is active.

10 · Questions

AI product photos - frequently asked questions

Which products work well in Raya?

Objects with a clear shape work best, for example furniture, lamps, decor, ceramics, electronics, packaging or footwear. The hardest are transparent and highly reflective objects and small text on labels - compare the result with the product and fix details in the editor. Raya has no dedicated tool for clothing on models.

Does the product in an AI packshot look like the real one?

The AI takes shape and proportions from the 3D model or the photos, and colour and material from what it sees and what you describe. The better the model and the sharper the photos, the less it has to guess. Compare logos, text and material texture with the product before publishing, and if something is off, fix just that area in the editor.

I do not have a 3D model of my product - what now?

Generate it from photos. One photo is enough, and 4 shots from different sides give a better result, each up to 10 MB. One button sends the finished model to packshot rendering. You can also skip the model and place the product photo straight into a scene in the editor.

Which 3D model formats does the software support?

For packshot rendering you upload a GLB, GLTF, OBJ or FBX file. A model generated from a photo downloads as GLB or FBX. If you design in CAD software, export the product to one of these formats.

Can I use the images in my store and on marketplaces?

Yes. You have full commercial rights to images generated in Raya, regardless of your plan, so you can publish them in your online store, on marketplaces, in ads and in catalogues.

How long does it take to generate a packshot?

A 2K packshot usually takes 20-40 seconds and a 4K one 1-2 minutes. Video takes longer, from one to a few minutes, depending on length and resolution.
