3D model visualization in Raya starts from a file you already have. You upload a model in GLB, GLTF, OBJ or FBX format, set up the view in your browser, and AI turns it into a photorealistic render with the materials, light and background you describe in a plain sentence. The shape and proportions come from the model, so AI doesn’t have to guess them.

This is online 3D model visualization: you don’t install software or a render engine, set up lights or assign textures. The tool is useful for furniture manufacturers, product designers and shops that have models but need photos. If you design whole interiors, the AI visualization generator, where you upload a screenshot of a view from your software, will suit you better.

How does AI 3D model visualization work?

The editor shows the model in a 3D preview. You rotate it with the mouse, zoom in and pick a preset view: front, back, side, top or isometric. When you click “Generate Visualization”, Raya captures exactly that frame and sends it to AI together with your description.

The model file itself never leaves your browser; only an image of the view you set up is sent for generation. This lets you work on models of products before launch without sending their geometry to a server.

  1. 3D model of a chair with an arched backrest in the Raya preview, with the supported GLB, GLTF, OBJ and FBX formats below

    1 · Model file

GLB, GLTF, OBJ or FBX up to 50 MB. A grey model without materials works too.

  2. 3D model visualization settings panel: lighting, a background described in words and the chair’s materials

    2 · Settings

Framing, proportions, lighting, background and materials described in your own words.

  3. Finished AI visualization of a chair from a 3D model in a bright japandi interior, labelled under a minute and 2K or 4K

    3 · Visualization

A photorealistic render in 2K or 4K, usually in under a minute.

What you set before AI creates the 3D model visualization

All the settings are in one panel next to the preview. You fine-tune the framing before generating, so you don’t pay for test shots.

  • View and camera

Six preset shots: front, back, left, right, top and 45° isometric. You set the field of view with a slider, and the four-view mode gives you one image showing the product from four sides.

  • Frame proportions

1:1, 16:9, 4:3 or 9:16. The proportions set the preview, the screenshot and the final render at the same time, so you choose the framing for a product page, banner or story from the start.

  • Lighting

Studio, soft, dramatic or natural. The brightness slider lightens the scene both in the preview and in the image that goes to AI.

  • Background

White, black, a colour of your choice or described in words, e.g. “bright living room with a large window”. A solid colour gives you a packshot, a description gives you a room setting.

  • Materials

Describe them in a sentence, e.g. “oak, beige bouclé, brass legs”, or in advanced mode add a material with a texture from a photo, such as a fabric sample.

  • Quality

2K for 2 credits or 4K for 4. You can then refine the finished image in editing or upscale it.

3D furniture visualization from a product model

A furniture manufacturer usually has a model before it has a prototype. From one file you can make a packshot on a light background for the product page and a visualization of the piece in an interior for a catalogue or social media. Each shot is a separate generation, so a full set of photos for your shop gallery comes together without a photo shoot.

Designing in 3D software? With Raya plugins you can create a visualization without exporting the model, straight from the view in SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max or Rhino.

From photo to video: 3D model and AI visualization in one place

No model? Make one from a photo. In Raya, the whole product path fits into one account: photo, 3D model, visualization and a short video. Each stage takes the result of the previous one, and you open the generated model in visualization with the “Use in 3D Model” button.

3D model visualization step by step

It all takes four steps. Setting up the shot takes the most time, since the generation itself usually takes under a minute. You can later refine the finished render in AI visualization editing, e.g. change the fabric colour without setting up the model again.

  1. File upload field with a 3D model of a wardrobe and a list of GLB, GLTF, OBJ and FBX formats
    1

    Upload the file

Drag a GLB, GLTF, OBJ or FBX model into the Upload 3D model tab. A model generated in Raya opens straight from your history.

  2. Preview of a 3D sofa model with front, back, left, right, top and isometric view buttons and a frame proportion selector

    Set up the shot

Rotate the model or pick a preset view, then choose the proportions and field of view.

  3. Settings: natural lighting, background described as a bright living room with a large window, materials with a fabric sample
    3

    Describe the scene

Choose the lighting and background, then describe the materials in a sentence or add a texture from a photo.

  4. Comparison of a 3D chair model and the finished AI visualization with Download, Edit and Upscale buttons

    Generate and download

In under a minute you can download the render. You can still refine it in editing or upscale it.

20 starting credits are enough for 10 visualizations in 2K.

Why AI 3D model visualization in Raya

A classic render from a model needs a render engine, materials and a lighting setup. Here you set up the shot and write what you want to see.

  • The shape comes from the model, not from AI’s imagination

AI sees the geometry from your file, so it doesn’t have to guess what the product looks like from the side or the back. The risk of invented details is much lower than when generating from a photo alone.

  • Your model stays with you

The file loads in your browser. Only an image of the shot you set up goes to AI, not the product’s geometry.

  • No materials, no render engine

A grey model without textures is enough. You describe materials, light and surroundings in words instead of setting them up in rendering software.

  • You pay per shot

A visualization costs 2 credits in 2K and 4 in 4K. You can try 3D model visualization for free on your starting credits, and plan prices are on the Raya pricing page.

3D model visualization - frequently asked questions

Which 3D model formats can I upload?

GLB, GLTF, OBJ and FBX, one file up to 50 MB. GLB is the most reliable because it holds the geometry and textures in a single file. A GLTF file must have its assets embedded, and OBJ loads without the MTL file, which means without colours. In that case you describe the materials in the panel.

Is 3D model visualization free?

To start with, yes. When you create an account you get 20 credits valid for 14 days, with no card required. That’s 10 3D model visualizations in 2K. After that you pay with credits: 2 per shot in 2K or 4 in 4K.

Is my 3D model sent to a server?

No. The model file opens in your browser and stays there. Only an image of the shot you set up goes to AI together with your description, and the finished visualization is saved in your account history.

Does the model need materials and textures?

No. A readable shape is enough, even a grey model. You describe materials in a sentence, and in advanced mode you can add a texture from a photo, such as a fabric or veneer sample. If the model already has textures, AI will see them because they are in the captured frame.

I don’t have a 3D model. What can I do?

You can generate one from a photo in Raya’s 3D model generator, from 6 credits, and open it in visualization with one click. If you have a screenshot of a view from 3D software, you can turn it into a visualization right away in the AI visualization generator.

Can I create a visualization without exporting the model from my software?

Yes, if you work in software that has a Raya plugin, such as SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max or Rhino. The Raya panel then runs inside the program and creates a visualization from the current view, with no file export.
